There is no official winner yet for the Ratu Sukuna Bowl boxing competition with the results to be reviewed today by Fiji Amateur Boxing match officials.

This was confirmed to The Fiji Times by the Fiji Amateur Boxing national coach Cam Todd.

“The match officials will review the results, I’m not a match official, just a national coach, but I have been advised that the Fiji Amateur Boxing match officials will review the results today and make sure the correct winner is announced and we should have that done today,” advised Todd.

Emotions were high yesterday at the competition venue in Nasese when Police were announced as the initial winner.

Army officials protested the results confronting match officials and officials from the police team.

Todd says the match officials are working hard to ensure the results are tallied correctly and everything is done transparently.

“It was a busy chaotic event, and we want to make sure it is done, and it is done transparently so every is clear on what happened and clear on the results,” he said.

“So, this is what they are doing at the moment, and the tournament officials are just tallying the results, double checking everything making sure everything was done correctly and we will get it out as soon as possible.”

Todd calling on team officials, boxers, and fans to remain calm as the official winner will be announced soon.

“And yeah, I understand emotions get high in Sukuna Bowl, but we want to make sure everything is done clearly and transparently and once everything is done the officials will issue the official results.”
