Sixty-one sugar cane farmers have received government assistance this week, the Ministry of Sugar has announced.
48 farmers received grants to start sugarcane farming, and 13 farmers received support for lease renewals.
The Ministry states the Coalition Government continues to stand with Fiji’s sugarcane farmers.
A statement from the Ministry added the assistance to the 61 farmers is a direct investment in the future of Fiji’s sugar industry.
“The Coalition Government is delivering real support to farmers, ensuring they have the resources to succeed,” said the Ministry.
“With the right leadership, our farmers will thrive, and our economy will grow. We will not leave anyone behind.”
