Subsidiary opens call centre

INFORMATION on Fiji Airways will be more accessible following the opening of their call centre at the BSP Life Centre building in Suva yesterday.

The call centre, named Pacific CentreCom (Fiji) Ltd, is a joint venture between Pacific Call Comm Ltd and Australian-Maltese Company Centre Com Pacific Pty Ltd.

Fiji Airways managing director and CEO Stefan Pichler said the opening of the call centre was not only a great day for the company but also to all Fijians.

“As you can see, there are new jobs for Fijians because we think as Fiji Airways group, a call centre is a great industry where Fiji as the centre in the South Pacific can benefit and take some labour and calls from other countries like Australia and New Zealand,” Mr Pichler said.

“This will be a great boost as the working conditions in Fiji are better and people speak perfect English. The centre will employ 40 staff members and look after Fiji Airways global reservations.”

Mr Pichler said they were going to re-invent their product on the ground with the renovation of various airports in Fiji.
