Schools managed by Hindu organisations across the country came alive with colour and celebration yesterday as students and teachers marked the festival of Holi.
School environment was filled with laughter and music as students took part in the traditional throwing of coloured powder, symbolising joy, unity and the triumph of good over evil.
Cultural programs, chautaal singing and dance performances were also organised to commemorate the occasion.
School leaders said Holi celebrations provided an opportunity for students to learn about the cultural and religious significance of the festival while promoting values of harmony and togetherness among different communities.
Teachers highlighted that beyond the festivities, Holi carries an important message of forgiveness, renewal and strengthening bonds of friendship.
The celebrations concluded with light refreshments, with many schools emphasising the importance of respecting cultural traditions while fostering inclusivity and mutual understanding among students of all backgrounds.
Schools managed by Hindu organisations will remain closed today as Hindus across Fiji and around the world celebrate the festival of colours.
