Strong wind warning remains in force

A strong wind warning remains in force for land areas of the Yasawa Group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups.

According to the weather bulletin issued from the national weather forecast centre in Nadi yesterday, a weak trough of low pressure with associated clouds and rain affects the Eastern and Northern parts of the country.

Meanwhile, a high pressure to the far Southeast of Fiji directs fresh to strong southeast wind flow over the Fiji Group.

Forecast to midnight today for the Fiji Group stated that land areas of Yasawa Group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups would experience strong southeast winds with an average speed of 45km/hr with rough seas.

For the rest of the country, expect moderate to rough seas.

Occasional rain over the greater Suva/Nausori-Tailevu, Naitasiri and Serua-Namosi, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Cakaudrove and southern Bua.

Elsewhere, fine apart from afternoon and evening showers. Isolated heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low-lying areas.
