Nasinu Secondary School has the support of the township and the vanua of Kalabu heading to the grand-final of the 2025 Vodafone Super Deans trophy tomorrow.

On Wednesday, Nasinu Town Council executive chairman Felix Magnus along with the head of the Yavusa of Kalabu and other stakeholders visited the school to render their support to the under-18 and 19 teams that will be playing in the final of the Deans.

They also donated food items to the school.

Magnus, who led the delegation said the school’s surge to the final and their visit was significant to the township of Nasinu.

“We have every hope in the team, and we believe that with divine intervention and the blessings of the vanua, the team will be able to pull off their first Deans victory ever,” he said.

This wasn’t a one-off visit but rather a continued relationship, exacerbated by Nasinu’s performance in the Deans, both in the U18 and 19 grades.

“It means a lot to the township of Nasinu. Over the last years we have tried our very best to bring Nasinu township up, we’ve worked with residents and schools and being here at Nasinu Secondary is a continued relationship formed since we have been assisting this school when they need us.

“We were here at the beginning of the year with the National Fire Authority to see that the school was water blasted and ready. We continue to give our support to the management of the school in terms of infrastructural needs.

“We are here to render our full support to the boys and wish them the best from the township and the vanua,” Magnus added.

NSS principal Naisa Cama said they were surprised by the visit and they thankful to have the backing of the township and the vanua in their pursuit of greatness in the Deans final tomorrow.

The U18 side will take on Ratu Kadavulevu School at 5.30pm while the U19 team will battle giant slayers, Tailevu North College at 2.50pm.

The final of the Deans and Raluve will be played at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
