Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama opened a three-storey classroom building for students of Queen Victoria School (QVS) in Tailevu on Thursday.

The building also included a fully-furbished gymnasium.

Mr Bainimarama said the new classrooms would enable the students to strive for excellence.

“QVS receives a new and better campus, it must strive to better serve its students by better preparing them with the knowledge and the values a strong and inclusive Fiji demands – a nation that uplifts all of its citizens by assigning equal value to all people,” he said.

“A nation that rewards individuals, not based on who they know, or even on where they went to school, but based on merit and on the contribution they are capable of making to society.”

Mr Bainimarama also reminded students to help each other and to be focused on school.
