Straight after leading Suva to a 37-12 thrashing of Namosi, skipper John Stewart changed jerseys for another game at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.
The Naikorokoro, Kadavu man played for the Army Green in their double-header clash against Nabua in the Escott Shield and Dere Ravoka Tanoa trophies.
The game was to commomerate two gentlemen who both played for Nabua and Army. The duo are former Fiji 7s skipper and coach Alivereti Dere and former Suva lock Ratu Savenaca Ravoka.
“The idea of the tanoa challenge is to strengthen the relationship of the two clubs,” Dere said.
“Nabua was like a feeder club to Army and the relationship at one stage became weak. The whole idea is to make sure some of the Nabua boys have to be part of the Army setup like in the past.”
