Steven Adams has grabbed a season-high 18 rebounds to help the New Orleans Pelicans snap a three-game losing streak with a comfortable 124-106 win over a depleted Washington Wizards.

Thursday’s (NZT) victory was a critical one for Adams and the Pelicans who went into the home court game having lost eight of their last nine.

Adams’ previous best rebound tally for his new club was 16 but his career record is 23 when playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder against the Sacramento Kings back in 2018.

Adams and former Thunder teammate Russell Westbrook did not clash with the Wizards opting to rest their superstar following a busy outing the previous night against Houston.

Washington was also missing six other players because of health and safety protocols.

Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram each scored 32 points for the Pelicans but Bradley Beal topped the game scoring with 47 that almost single-handedly kept the Wizards in the contest.
