MEMBERS of the Steiner family travelled from around the world to be part of their family reunion in Labasa.
The reunion, which began on Wednesday after members arrived, included a day’s trip down memory lane to the coast of Macuata, where their origins remain today.
Event organiser Aca Lesikimatuku, who initiated the idea of a reunion and who shares maternal links to the Steiner roots, described the historic event as an accomplishment.
“This is the first time for us to have a Steiner reunion and I’m just speechless and so overwhelmed with the response we have received from all our family members around the world,” he said.
“Everyone’s been talking about family reunion but we never got around to organising one so I gave it a serious thought and here we are today (yesterday).”
