The State is maintaining its objection to bail to a former officer from the Fiji Police Force’s Counter Narcotics Bureau.
Prosecutor Unal Lal reaffirmed his position after reviewing the formal bail application of Isireli Waqairalai Daulevu, which was submitted by his lawyer Jioji Cakau last Friday.
Mr Daulevu appeared before Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne yesterday on a count of abuse of office for allegedly leaking confidential investigation documents to an unauthorized third party in July last year.
Mr Lal said he would respond to the bail application before the case is called later this month in the Suva Magistrates Court.
Mr Daulevu was further remanded and the case adjourned to October 15.
