The Government is considering further investments in new Government offices, staff accommodation, and upgraded facilities in strategic locations across the country.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka revealed this, during the official opening of the refurbished headquarters of the Commissioner Western Division in Lautoka on Friday.

He said these investments were aligned with Fiji’s National Development Plan and Vision 2050, which emphasised strong institutions, inclusive development, resilient communities, and a public service that would be responsive to the needs of Fijians.

“By strengthening Government infrastructure, we strengthen the foundation upon which sustainable economic development and social progress are built,” Mr Rabuka said.

He said the investment in facilities and systems was aimed at improving access to services, particularly for rural, maritime, and remote communities through the 2026-2027 National Budget.

He said the refurbished headquarters of the Commissioner Western Division formed part of Government’s wider commitment to modernising public infrastructure and strengthening service delivery throughout Fiji.
