The Ministry of Housing and Community Development is cautioning the public, particularly those that applied for refunds of deposits paid to People’s Community Network (PCN) for LagiLagi housing units.
According to a post on the Fijian Government Facebook page, the Ministry is aware of scam callers who volunteer to assist in obtaining refunds as soon as possible – this follows after information was received from recipients who received such calls.
Housing Ministry permanent secretary Sanjeeva Perera stated the matter will be referred for further investigation with the relevant authorities.
The ministry would also like to advise that all eligible applicants who applied under this program have been fully refunded as of October 1.
The applicants who did not meet the criteria have also been notified of the decision with reasons – some were not reachable on the contact details that were provided.
