NATIONAL middle and long-distance star runner Yeshnil Karan will miss a string of upcoming competitions after undergoing successful surgery for acute appendicitis at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia last weekend.
Medical officials confirmed the condition developed rapidly and is not related to his training.
However, the setback has forced Karan to withdraw from the Australian Championships, UniSport Australian Championships, and the Oceania Championships in May as he focuses on recovery.
Karan is now recovering well and expected to be discharged in the coming days with doctors confident the Pacific middle and long-distance star will make a full return.
