The Nadroga Rugby Union is officially back in the hunt for silverware, armed with a significant advantage after the Nadroga Rugby Legends handed over a high-end training equipment on Monday.
In a move that signals a return to the glory days for the Stallions, the Legends group spearheaded an initiative to ensure the provincial powerhouse is fully equipped for this year’s national competition.
The injection of gear was made possible through a partnership with Bula Fiji Care Giver Agency which is a USA-based organisation.
Director Etuate Toroca has been hailed for his kind-hearted commitment to the grassroots of Fijian rugby, proving that the Nadroga spirit extends far beyond the reef.
NRU president Jiuta Waqavonovono didn’t hold back his relief and excitement during the official handover, noting that the union has been starved of professional-grade resources for far too long.
“It’s been a while since Nadroga Rugby Union has been fully equipped for preparation in a season,” Waqavonovono admitted.
“Thanks to the Nadroga Legends, this long wait has finally ended. This is about a good cause and a vital partnership.”
The partnership matter because in the modern era of the national competition, elite preparation requires elite tools instead of pure talent and grit.
