Staff of Tambua Sands Beach Resort in Sigatoka took on a proactive yet informative approach while advocating for cancer awareness, its impact and best healthcare practices.
In a statement the resort said the initiative was marked throughout the month of October by staff to spread hope while also educating those who may not be aware of how cancer impacts the average person.
“From the front desk to the housekeeping team and kitchen staff, every department participated, transforming the resort into a vibrant reminder of unity and care,” the statement said.
“To mark the occasion, the resort organised an internal awareness initiative encouraging staff to learn about the importance of early detection, regular health checks, and self-examinations.”
The statement said the initiative reflected the team’s dedication not only to hospitality but also to making a positive impact in their community.
“In addition to awareness activities, the staff showed their creativity and spirit by decorating workspaces in pink and participating in themed photo sessions that celebrated togetherness and the shared commitment to spreading awareness.”
Resort manager Angela Bob shared a heartfelt appreciation for the team’s participation.
“Pinktober is more than just wearing pink; it’s about standing together, supporting one another, and reminding everyone that awareness and early detection can save lives,” she said.
“I’m proud of our Tambua Sands team for showing such heart and unity this month.”
