Lautoka Football Club received a major boost ahead of the semi-finals of the Digicel Fiji FACT this weekend with a generous cash sponsorship from FLiCK Hygiene.

While the exact amount of the sponsorship has not been disclosed, its impact on the team’s morale is undeniable.

Lautoka football president Shalendra Prasad acknowledges FLiCK Hygiene’s support.

“The Lautoka football is thankful to FLiCK Hygiene for coming on board and sponsoring us and its’s a very timely matter which has boosted the team’s spirit,” Prasad said.

Prasad mentioned that announcing the sponsorship to the players contributed to their strong performance in their pool match, which secured their semi-final spot.

“When we announced the sponsor in camp the players were delighted and no wonder that could be one of the reasons we have reached the semifinal,” Prasad added.

FLiCK Hygiene managing director Mohammed Tazim highlighted the importance of supporting the community.

“The business was established in Lautoka in 1983, it’s time for us to give something back.

“We have been sponsoring other sports organisations and other sporting bodies over the years but this one we give something back to Lautoka football.

“Lautoka team needed finances so we stood up and we look forward to continue support and hopefully they can deliver, and we will stand behind them,” Tazim said.

The semi-finals and the final will be played at Subrail Park in Labasa this weekend.

Lautoka will face hosts Labasa in the first semi-final at 2pm, while Group B winners Navua will take on Ba at 4.30pm on Saturday.
