Since its start last month, the Vodafone Deans Southern Zone will now arrive its finale after an intense wave of robust competition in the zone.
The finals were launched yesterday at the Vodafone Triangle in Suva, where representatives of the respective grade finalists from under-14 to 19 were present.
Speaking at the launch, Southern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby Union president Rusiate Wadali highlighted how this weekend’s zone finale showdown would see a gathering of a large number of students following the weekly competitions they had in the lead-up to the finals.
He said in the entire competition for the Southern Zone they had engaged with nearly 30 schools and a total of 78 teams.
He added this year’s Southern Zone saw a total of 3000 players take part.
Wadali urged the support of families and supporters to come out in numbers to cheer on the finalists as they take to the field this Saturday.
Meanwhile, tickets for the matches are sold on Ticketmate and those wanting to buy them have been urged to buy it online during the pre-sale, priced at $10.
Those opting to purchase directly at the gates on game day will have to pay $15.
