AZARIAH Soromon, the talented forward for Vanuatu United FC and a familiar face to Suva football fans, is back in town and this time, he’s here to make more memories with his new team in the OFC Pro League.
Soromon, who previously played for Suva District three years ago, says returning to Suva feels great.
“It’s a good feeling to be back in my hometown,” he shared.
One of his fondest memories at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva is the thrilling match against Rewa in 2023, which saw Suva qualify for the OFC.
“That game stands out as my best memory here,” he said.
Now focused on his role with Vanuatu United, Soromon has set clear goals.
“My aim is to help the team secure the points we need this round before the finals next month,” he explained.
He’s confident the team is ready, despite the tough challenge ahead in their opening match against South Island United tomorrow.
“It’s going to be a tough game, but the boys are prepared and excited.”
Adjusting to Suva’s weather hasn’t been an issue for the Vanuatu United squad, arriving early to get settled.
“The boys have really adjusted well and are looking forward to the game.”
Before kickoff, Soromon sent a message to his loyal Suva fans:
“You’re the 12th man on the field. Please come out in numbers this weekend and support the boys.”
Vanuatu United meets South Island United at 3pm tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
