Datec Fiji chairman Isikeli Tikoduadua said cybersecurity would be a catalyst for business safety and sustainability as the country moved more towards a digital economy.

Speaking at the Fiji Tech Summit 2024 in Nadi on Thursday, he said as the leading service provider, they had observed a significant increase in cyber attacks across Fiji and the Pacific region.

“It is a non-negotiable aspect of any digital strategy, safeguarding our most critical assets in a world where threats grow increasingly sophisticated,” Mr Tikoduadua said.

“This highlights the urgent need for strengthening security environments through the right technology and best cyber hygiene practices.

“Our focus is on empowering businesses with robust cybersecurity solutions that not only address current threats but also build resilience against future challenges.”

Mr Tikoduadua said in this era of rapid technological evolution, three pillars stood out as transformative forces for businesses and governments alike — digital business, cybersecurity, and intelligent architectures.

“Digital business powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and automation is reshaping industries by offering automation, data-driven insights, and the ability to enhance customer experiences like never before.

“For businesses and organisations in Fiji and the Pacific, leveraging Generative AI by investing in smarter technologies is crucial.

“This enables the capture of critical business data, driving efficiency, productivity, and sustainable growth.

“Thirdly, having an intelligent architecture that provides a data-centric platform is essential for underpinning enterprise digital operations and supporting digital infrastructure for AI workloads. Together, these technologies form the foundation of a resilient and competitive digital future for Fiji and the Pacific.”
