RENEWABLE Energy Systems has lightened up the usual dark surroundings of the North through the supply of solar electricity. The company which evolved out of a government experiment called resco, is on the right path to support climate change program.
The affordable solar packages sold by the company has resulted in increased demand by the public. Company owner Krishna Raj said over the past two years of operating commercially, he has seen the demand for solar systems grow. He also believes the environmentally friendly machines have attracted his customers.
“There is a great demand for solar power in the North and most of it is from the rural dwellers,” Mr Raj said. Over the past two years, I have seen the demand increase and it’s positive because it also shows that people are realising the importance of solar.
“It also shows that people know the impact of solar systems which is safe, pollution free and affordable.”
The company’s reputation is healthy with civil society groups having partnered with them to install solar systems around the division. Apart from just installing solar systems, the company team also services and repairs defunct solar systems, with appropriate diagnosis in the field. Mr Raj said a lot of customers had made good use of his company’s services and were happy with the results.
“Some of the solar systems that were installed by other companies have been brought to us to repair and the customers trust our work,” he said.
“Apart from doing good repairs, we also offer affordable prices to ensure our customers are able to pay and are also happy paying for our services.
“We have equipment that are of top quality and we make tailor-made solutions. We believe in offering the best to our customers.” The company plans to work with government and NGOs to help settlements and individuals in setting up borehole pumps, which could be powered by Solar.
“We are currently looking at the solar system that are already running boreholes and facing problems in performances. This is done in areas that don’t have any electricity,” Mr Raj said.
“This is gearing to be a success and it is so encouraging to see people enjoy our services in rural areas.”
