Update: 3:35PM SMALL business operators in Sigatoka became the first in the Western Division to receive a micro and small business grant by the Government.
The grant, which targets improving the livelihoods of small business enterprises, was distributed today by the Acting Prime Minister and Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
More than 500 people received their grants worth about $1million.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said the grants were an example of government cooperation with local micro enterprises who were vital to the economic growth of the country.
