SKY PACIFIC CHANNEL CHANGES

FIJI TV CEO Tevita Gonlevu says the decision to change their SKY Pacific channel line-up was because of piracy and territory clearance issues. These are highlighted below:

* BBC Channel — dropped after repeated complaints of the program being pirated in Fiji.

* Discovery Home and Health — not legally cleared by Discovery to broadcast in Papua New Guinea.

* Toonami and Cartoon Network — owned by the same company. Toonami caters for a different genre of cartoon viewers.

* FOX Crime and Nat Geo — cleared by FOX International for broadcast in PNG.

* FOX Movies, Star Plus and Star World — not cleared for PNG broadcast. FOX had given a pay TV competitor in PNG exclusive broadcast throughout PNG.
