SKY Pacific, in partnership with Digicel, yesterday launched its new Sky Pacific mobile plan which allows Sky Pacific customers to pay their subscriptions using the recharge balance on their prepay Digicel mobiles.
Charlotte Taylor, Digicel Fiji’s head of commercial, residential segment, while launching this latest plan in Suva, said they were really happy with this new innovation which they were bringing to customers.
“When Digicel took over Sky Pacific over a year ago, we promised our customers across the country that we would have a lot of great innovations and make a lot of improvements to the services,” she said.
Ms Taylor said they had done a lot of work over the year which included bringing their customers great new products; they introduced the Triple Play bundle which included 25 channels of Sky Pacific, 58 Gb of anytime data and free calls and SMS for subscribers.
She said they also brought customers and Fijians a great affordable offer which was the Sky Light Plan for $29.95 where they got 13 channels of Sky TV.
“And today we’re very excited to announce that from this weekend all our Sky customers will be able to pay their Sky Pacific bill using Digicel recharge,” Ms Taylor said.
Meanwhile, Digicel Fiji CEO Darren McLean said this was a great solution for customers that didn’t have time to visit a store to pay their bills.
“We are always looking at ways to improve the customer experience and this is a fantastic option for our Sky customers,” he said.
He said the convenience factor would drive uptake of the mobile payments channel.
“There are already more than 100 payment locations for Sky Pacific around Fiji as well as online banking, but the move to include recharge as a way to pay, means that the number will grow to more than 1500,” Mr McLean said.
Ms Taylor in explaining the new feature said customers firstly needed to recharge their mobile phones and would need to swap their Digicel sims from their current Digicel plan to the Sky Pacific Mobile Plan.
“And to do this they will need to dial *555# and opt into the Sky Pacific Mobile Plan and follow the menu. So customers can just sit at home, recharge their phones and pay their Sky Pacific subscriptions using their recharge balance.
“Not only is it easy and convenient, they also get an amazing bonus of free mobile data of 5 Gb for our regular Sky Pacific subscribers and 10 Gb for Sky Triple Play subscribers. They also get free Digicel calls and SMS for the month,” she said.
