EDUCATION Minister Aseri Radrodro has described this week’s Viti Showcase and Skills Fair as a direct reflection of the Government’s commitment towards ensuring every Fijian child has access to quality education.
The week-long event started on Monday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva and is aimed at inspiring excellence, fostering collaboration among schools, and promoting a culture of innovation and productivity among young people.
“This event with the theme, Unleashing Potentials, Celebrating Talents, Building Skills, provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate what they have learnt in classrooms, workshops, and community projects through authentic and hands-on displays of innovation, craftsmanship, and performance,” he said.
“Through these initiatives, the Ministry of Education is dedicated to ensuring that opportunities like the Viti Showcase and Skills Fair are not just about attendance, but about providing the resources and environment where every single student can be motivated and thrive.”
Mr Radrodro said the showcase is designed as a safe, inclusive, and empowering platform for students to demonstrate their skills, talents, and innovations across various learning areas.
He said such an event is at the heart of the ministry’s skills-based curriculum, which actively nurtures essential 21st-century competencies.
“This is where our curriculum truly comes alive in which theoretical knowledge from the classroom is transformed into practical, tangible skills right here at the HFC Stadium.
“Here, we see the equations from the chalkboard become the engineering marvels on display. We see scientific theories transform into innovative solutions for our communities.
“We see language and the arts evolve from simple lessons into powerful performances that move and inspire us.”
