THE Fiji Football Association has short-listed six names for the position of the next national team coach following the resignation of Christophe Gamel earlier this year.
They are Karim Bencherifa (AFC pro licence/AFC A coaching licence- head coach of Morocco); Jason White (FA/UEFA pro licence-professional player- head coach Deffo FC); James Robinson (Master of Sports directorship/AFC pro diploma- professional player- head of Ballarat City FC); Maxwell Konadu (professional player, head coach of Ghana U23); Martin Koopman (professional player- technical director of Aruba Federation); Flemming Serritslev (UEFA pro licence teacher, professional player).
Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel said they would be finalising the interviews soon.
Patel said former Serbian player Goran Stevanovic was still on the list despite his financial demands.
“We will go forward with the interviews,” Patel said.
“We have to see our financial position if we can afford him. He is asking about $US40,000 per month which is about $F1.4m for the whole staff.
“It is something that we are mindful of whether we can afford his team but it is about affordability as well.”
