THE four South American nationals and two locals who were arrested in relation to the seizure of more than 100 bags of ‘cocaine’ are still in police custody.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro confirmed the six suspects were yet to be charged and remained in custody yesterday as investigations continue.
The group was arrested during an early morning drug raid near the Vatia Wharf in Tavua on Friday.
Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu said the raid was conducted by officers from the Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Serious Organised Crime and Intelligence Department (SOCID), and the Western Division Taskforce.
He said the raid was a result of collaboration between local and foreign law enforcement.
