Local boxer Nathan Singh faces an uphill battle in the 2023 FMF Fiji Boxing Series when he meets Vanuatu’s Masing Warawara, who has not lost a single bout in Fiji.
Known as “Slicky” because of his precise style of fighting, Warawara has won all four fights in the country.
However, Singh says he is excited to jump into the ring and battle it out with his Pacifica counterpart.
“He is a very good boxer and I know he will be preparing well.
“He has good timing in throwing his punches and knows how and where to throw them.”
Singh has been preparing for this bout for the past four weeks and believes he is in shape to get the job done.
“Right now we’re just doing a few touch ups here and there in my training, and I can’t wait to jump into the ring with him.”
Singh, who is also an undefeated champion as an amateur boxer in Fiji, will be banking on the knowledge of his opponents’ dangerous tactics to carry him through the fight.
“Even though he may not have the strength and the power, Warawara knows where to throw his punches.”
This will be the main supporting bout of the event and is expected to draw in a huge crowd of boxing enthusiasts from all over Fiji.
The bout will be held at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva and will be the first in the country under the Tuwai Boxing Promotions.
