Fijian golfing great Vijay Singh will appear once again in the Masters Tournament that gets underway today at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia in the United States.
At 63, Singh is set to make his 32nd appearance at Augusta marking a remarkable milestone that underlines his longevity and enduring class in the game.
He qualifies for participation through his lifetime exemption as a former champion.
The former world No.1 famously claimed the Green Jacket in 2000, winning by three strokes over Ernie Els for the second of his three major titles.
More than two decades on from that historic triumph, Singh continues to compete among the world’s best, lining up in a strong field of 91 players that includes defending champion Rory McIlroy and current world No.1 Scottie Scheffler.
His presence at this year’s Masters Tournament is a testament to a career defined by discipline, resilience and consistency.
Singh enjoyed a golden run at Augusta between 2000 and 2006 and has amassed 34 career victories, with 22 of those after the age of 40.
His achievements also include victories at the PGA Championship in 1998 and 2004, as well as the South African Open in 1997, while proudly representing Fiji at the Presidents Cup and Eisenhower Trophy.
In recent times, Singh has continued to compete finishing tied for eighth at the Senior PGA Championship in 2025.
However, he will be looking to improve on his most recent Masters outing, where he finished tied for 58th at 14-over.
As he appears at the Augusta National once more, Singh’s continued presence remains a source of immense pride for Fiji, with the golfing icon still flying the Fiji flag high on the tee.
