THE winner from this weekend’s HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Singapore from the current top three teams will have a good chance of winning the 2018/2019 series title.

USA leads the series with 130 points, followed by Fiji on 123 points and New Zealand on 118 points.

With 22 points on offer for the winner from this weekend’s tournament, it is highly likely that if either USA, Fiji or New Zealand wins, then they will have a high chance of taking home the series title with only one leg left in the series.

Defending champion South Africa is in fourth place on the series points standings with 99 points.

Points leader USA has won only one tournament but had featured in five finals.

The Mike Friday-coached side is in Pool C at the Singapore 7s where they will face England, Kenya and Wales.

Fiji is in Pool A with South Africa, Scotland and Canada.

New Zealand faces Samoa, Japan and Spain in Pool D. France, finalists in Hong Kong last weekend will lead Pool B along with Australia, Argentina and Hong Kong.

The Singapore 7s will start tomorrow and ends on Sunday night.
