Sigatoka hosts Muslim IDC

FOOTBALL fever is set to take over Lawaqa Park this weekend as the FMSA Tebara Halal Meats Muslim Inter-District Championship (IDC) 2025 kicks off tomorrow at Lawaqa Park.

Organised by the Fiji Muslim Sports Association, the three-day tournament will feature 14 district teams competing in four pools, with free entry for all spectators.

The action begins at 8am on Friday, with Cuvu facing Navua in Pool B and Drasa meeting Nasinu. At 9:15am, Ba clashes with Rewa in a Pool C battle on Ground 1, while Varavu meets Maro on Ground 2, also in Pool C. The final morning game is at 10:30am with Maigania playing Sabeto in Pool D on Ground 1.

After the Jumah Salaah break at 12pm, games resume at 1:30pm with Suva taking on Valelevu (Pool A) on Ground 1, and Drasa facing Cuvu (Pool B) on Ground 2. At 2:45pm, Navua goes up against Nasinu on Ground 1, while Varavu battles Rewa (Pool C) on Ground 2 at 4pm.

The evening matches begin at 6:30pm, with Nadi meeting Maigania in a Pool D and Ba taking on Maro (Pool C) at 7:45pm. The final match of the day kicks off at 9pm, with Lautoka going head-to-head against Valelevu in Pool A.

On Easter Saturday, action resumes with the U17 schools’ competition at 8:15am featuring Kamil Muslim College versus Nadi U17. At 9:30am, Suva plays Lautoka in a Pool A match on Ground 1, and West 2 takes on Central East in the Masters category on Ground 2. At 10:45am, Navua faces Drasa in Pool B, while Cuvu meets Nasinu (Pool B) on Ground 2.

The 12pm match sees Ba play Varavu (Pool C) on Ground 1, and Rewa battle Maro (Pool C) on Ground 2. At 1:15pm, Nadi faces Sabeto in a Pool D clash on Ground 1. Then the Masters category resumes with West 1 playing Central East at 2:30pm, followed by West 2 vs Makoi at 3:30pm.

The quarterfinals begin at 3:30pm with QF1: Winner Pool A vs Runner-Up Pool B, followed by QF2 at 4:45pm: Winner Pool B vs Runner-Up Pool A. After the Maghrib Salaah break, the last two quarterfinals resume with the third quarter final at 6:15pm which will see winner Pool C vs Runner-Up Pool D and the fourth quarterfinal at 7:30pm which will see Pool D winner plays runner up Pool C.

The final day kicks off at 8:15am with West 1 playing West 2 in the Masters, followed by Makoi and Central East Masters game at 9:15am, the U17 match between Kamil and Nasinu U17 at 10:15am.

The cup semi-finals begin at 11:15am with the finals expected to start from 2:30pm.
