Guests from a cruise ship were recently reated to a warm welcome at Vunidawamoli Village in Wailevu, Cakaudrove.

The twenty guests were the first to be part of the Nukuramase Eco Tours activity in Wailevu.

During their visit, they participated in a village tour, bilibili rides and bought souvenirs from the village hall.

Government said for decades, the community of Vunidawamoli aspired to share its culture and natural beauty with visitors but lacked the means and access.

Through collective efforts, their aspiration became a reality.

Government highlighted that it was achieved through the Micro and Small Enterprise (MSE) support of the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, complemented by ongoing technical guidance from the Na Vualiku Tourism Development Programme Office.

The ministry’s 2025 grant enabled the community to strengthen its product, build confidence, and prepare to host visitors to a standard aligned with Fiji’s tourism expectations.

Nukuramase Eco Tours is expected to welcome more cruise ship guests in the coming months.

According to Cruise Mapper, cruise ship MS Zaandam visited Vanua Levu last week.
