FIJI Navy maritime security operations continued this month with the deployments of both RFNS Timo and Savenaca and Free on Board (FoB) teams from the small boats squadron conducting various operations with partner agencies around the west and north.

Maintaining presence at sea with the aim to sustain our footprint across the country remains the ongoing focus of the RFN.

This aligns with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces’ (RFMF) strategic goal of maintaining operational reach and situational awareness. Also, it emphasises that joint initiatives strengthen operational capabilities and play a crucial role in enhancing regional security and strategic preparedness.

For the Fiji Navy, this means achieving the government’s aim of safeguarding the nation’s maritime security and supporting the blue economy, as outlined in the National Development Plan.

“This also requires a coordinated approach by all maritime security stakeholders, and we thank our partner agencies for embracing the national intent,” the RFN said.
