THE Fiji Ports Corporation Ltd’s (FPCL) Quality Assurance Unit last month carried out internal audits at Levuka and Lautoka ports.

The audit was to assess compliance with 5S principles and hygiene standards across key operational areas.

The audit at Levuka, according to the corporation, focused on evaluating workplace organisation, cleanliness, and adherence to established hygiene procedures.

The exercise reinforced best practices while identifying areas for improvement to support operational efficiency and uphold required quality standards.

From March 10 to March 12, a comprehensive 5S and hygiene compliance audit was undertaken at Lautoka Port. The assessment reviewed the implementation of the 5S principles (sort, set in order, shine, standardise, and sustain) across offices, operational zones, and common facilities.

The corporation said observations were documented to highlight strengths, address gaps, and identify opportunities to further enhance workplace efficiency, safety, and environmental hygiene.

FPCL said the audits formed part of the corporation’s ongoing commitment to quality assurance, operational discipline, and continuous improvement, ensuring that high standards of cleanliness, safety, and workplace organisation were consistently maintained across all port facilities.
