THE cruise ship, Norwegian Sun called into port this month.

The ship which has a guest capacity of 1878, and 906 crew members berthed at the Port of Suva on Saturday August 9.

The Norwegian Sun has a 77,104 gross register tonnage with an overall length of 258 metres and a width of 36 metres.

The passenger ship is operated by the Norwegian Cruise Line. The cruise line has 18 world-class vessels under its name.

According to Norwegian Cruise Line, the eighteen ships are divided among six different classes including Sun, Dawn, Jewel, Breakaway, Breakaway Plus and Prima.

The Norwegian Sun is under the Sun class with the Norwegian Sky and is sailing under the flag of Bahamas.

Most of the tourists who visited enjoyed themselves around the Capital City, especially absorbing what Suva had to offer.

Some of them took pictures and videos of the traditional kava ceremony and meke that was presented by the Ratu Sukuna Memorial School students during their 65th Anniversary Blue Sapphire Celebration at Ratu Sukuna Park that day.

The ship later departed Suva that afternoon.
