The Discovery Princess called into Suva Port on January 8.
The ship is a Royal Class (#6) cruises ship operated by Princess Cruises.
According to Princess Cruises, the ship has a guest capacity of 3660 (lower berths) with a tonnage of 145,00o and has 1346 crew on board.
There are 1830 guest staterooms with two sky suites, 42 suites with private balconies, two window suites, 374 mini-suites with private balconies, 311 deluxe balconies, 753 balconies, 6 preview Oceanview and 340 inside cabins.
There are 40 accessible staterooms and 100 connecting staterooms on board.
It has showrooms and lounges, key venues and guest services and a wide range of food and beverage venues for guests to choose from during their voyage. The ship has 19 decks.
There are four pools on the ship, two top-deck pools, a retreat pool and wake-view pool and 10 hot tubs.
The Bermuda registered ship was built by Fincantieri and was handed over to Princess Cruises on January 28, 2022.
The Fiji Police Force assisted guests when they arrived in Suva.
An information booth was setup by Police to help guests with directions as they explored the Capital City.
“Great to see the passengers of the cruise liner Discovery Princess enjoying the Suva weather,” the Fiji Police said.
“With more than 4,000 passengers and 1,300 crew members, arriving in the capital city, we hope they’ve enjoyed the best of our Fijian hospitality before leaving for their next port of call in Nuku’alofa.”
The Discovery Princess is the first cruise ship scheduled to visit Fiji this month alongside the Costa Deliziosa, Riviera, Noordam and Zaandam.
