THE Shadow Force team scooped top honours at the annual Westpac Games, which was held at the Nadi Sangam School earlier this month.
The bank’s staff and their families convened at the school on Saturday, November 15, to engage in good-spirited sporting competition and celebrate connection, camaraderie and a strong sense of belonging.
Besides Shadow Force’s overall finish in first place, they were also crowned champions for the volleyball and netball competitions.
Volleyball, soccer, touch rugby and netball, and novelty games such as pani and tug of war were competed in at the event.
More than 500 Westpac staff competed in four teams: Shadow Force, Titans, Valor and Vortex.
Later in the evening, an awards night dinner for staff was held where the prizes for the sports meet were awarded.
Westpac Fiji chief executive Shane Smith highlighted how the annual meet was an essential component of the bank’s commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where the work of its staff was highly valued.
“The Westpac Games are a highlight for our team because they remind us of who we are, a community that looks out for each other and celebrates together,” Smith said.
The bank’s managing director for the Pacific region, Emma Low, also in attendance, remarked how the games were a standout display of Westpac Fiji’s culture.
