SUVA Grammar School has booked all five of its age-grade teams into the Vodafone Deans Championship semi-finals at Lawaqa Park next Saturday, marking a perfect run in their 65th anniversary year.

In the quarter-finals yesterday, the U14 side defeated Saint Vincent College 41-8, the U15s edged Ratu Navula College 17-13, while the U16s overpowered Holy Cross College 46-3.

The U17s followed with a 41-12 win over Gurunanak Khalsa College from Labasa.

The U18 team sealed the sweep with a 27-24 victory over Lelean Memorial School in a tightly contested match. With scores locked at 24-24 in the dying minutes, fullback Semi Solovani kicked the winning penalty.

Solovani said teamwork had been the key to their campaign.

“We have been reminded to work together as a team from day one, and that keeps pushing us. This year is Suva Grammar School’s 65th anniversary, so we want to win for that and make our Grammar family proud,” he said.

All five Grammar teams will now turn their focus to next weekend’s semi-finals, aiming to continue their strong form.
