ALENA Vudikaria, Fiji’s seven-year-old singing sensation will make her big debut at the I Believe fundraiser for the St John’s Association gala event this Saturday at the Grand Pacific Hotel.

The youngster will showcase her amazing vocal talent alongside a star-studded cast including Pasifika Prima Voce – which features the amazing vocal talent of Sunia Soko Loga, and multi FPRA Music Award winners Yanu Boyz.

Also featuring on the night is 10-year-old Catherine Daucokocoko.

Loga said the two youngsters were his students.

“I teach Alena at a USP program for young children and her being the youngest – people didn’t think she would do much but surprisingly she surpassed everyone else,” he said.

“She is very passionate, very focused and very talented.

“Catherine is one of the kids that came to the FPRA music master class and she is singing Ave Maria by Schubert and it is a very difficult song to sing – but I know she has the ability to pull it off.

“Having shows like this is another lesson for her, I hope this experience will be enriching for them because they get to find themselves – it takes a lot of courage to go out centre stage and sing in front of a roomful of strangers.”

Loga said the event would begin with multi FPRA Music Awards winners Yanu Boyz and continue with Kaji Voce and Pasifika Prima Voce.

St John Association of Fiji marketing and charity events planning officer Darlene Underwood said the event was to raise funds to meet the costs of oxygen, lifesaving first-aid equipment for ambulances services, first aid training equipment, materials for community and schools.

She also said they had a list of costly equipment they needed to acquire such as defibrillators a must-carry for every ambulance.
