The death has occurred of a senior police officer in Suva.
Multiple sources within the police force have confirmed the officer passed away yesterday afternoon at a private hospital.
He had under-gone a medical operation earlier in the week.
The officer held the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police.
An official statement from the Fiji Police Force is expected today.
