THE Waste Clear (Fiji) Limited-sponsored National Open Pairs bowling tournament was won by Samuela Tui and Waisea Senibici yesterday at the bowling club in Suva.
The duo defeated Soni Vakatalai and Sai Tokalau by 21 shots to 10 in the final.
Suva Bowling Club president Dan Lum On said they were happy with bowlers.
“The former national reps had come through to the semi-final stage. The competition was a world class competition.
“We had an Australian coach who had been looking at the competition.
“He was very happy with the way the players were performing in the tournament.”
Former Australia coach Robbie Dobbins was also present at the tournament.
“But he is not happy with the standard of the greens. Our greens are good for our level in Fiji but for him the amount of greens they have there we won’t be able to match,” he added.
He said he would like to see us play on a better pitch.
