THE stage is set for a thrilling Skipper Cup semi-final as Tailevu prepares to face Naitasiri tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
Fans across the region are eagerly anticipating this clash, which promises high-intensity rugby, tactical battles, and a fierce contest for a spot in the final.
Tailevu, who have been steadily building momentum this season, are determined to finally break their Skipper Cup drought.
President Joe Rodan expressed confidence in the team’s preparation and mindset ahead of the big game.
“Our focus is to go there and do our best. Naitasiri is number one in the Skipper Cup, and we know the challenge that awaits us. But we want to win we have been waiting for this moment for a long time.
“The boys are fully aware that we haven’t won the Skipper Cup yet, and they are ready to up their game this Saturday. At the end of the day, the result will talk.”
Rodan added that Tailevu has received strong backing from their supporters.
“We have been getting good support from Tailevu, and it will be a good game.
“This is part of our mission in the past weeks we want to win the Skipper Cup. After our quarter-final against Lautoka, we are determined to go up one notch again.”
The team is currently camping in Nakelo, ensuring they are well-prepared and focused.
While Tailevu will miss Simione Kuruvoli for the semi-final, the coaching staff have confidence in their replacement to step up and deliver.
On the other hand, Naitasiri, the current top-ranked team in the competition, will be looking to assert their dominance and continue their pursuit of Skipper Cup glory. Tailevu takes on Naitasiri at 3pm while Malolo battles Nadi at 1pm at the same venue.
