Semis push – Labasa, Rewa through to final four

AFTER another scintillating day of football action, hosts Extra Supermarket Labasa and Lincoln Rewa football have booked their spots in the semi-finals of the 2025 Extra Battle of the Giants.

They are the only two teams which are undefeated in the tournament so far.

Rewa was the first team to make it through after outclassing Nadi 3-0 in its second group B match yesterday.

The clinical Delta Tigers side has shown clear intentions of keeping a clean sheet and maintaining their winning run.

“We finally can say that we have qualified for the semis but nevertheless we have another game tomorrow (today), and we want to keep our clean sheet,” Rewa assistant coach Priyant Mannu stated.

Similar to Friday, Labasa gave their fans all the reasons to celebrate, keeping the 4483 attendees entertained throughout the 90-minute match as they sweep past Nadroga 2-0

Labasa’s advancement means that the semi-final and final will be played at Subrail Park as stated by Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel during the official opening of the tournament on Friday.

Looking at Group B, Rewa has six points on the table, Navua with three while Suva and Nadi share a point each.

Navua will need to beat Nadi to join Rewa in the last four and the same applies to the Jetsetters.

In case the two teams settle for a draw, Nadi will be booted out.

Suva has it tough in Group B as they need to beat Rewa by four clear goals to qualify and boot Navua out.

In Group A, Labasa has six points, Lautoka has four points, Ba has one point and Nadroga has no points with no wins so far.

This means that Lautoka will need only a draw with Labasa to go through and dash the hopes of Ba and Nadroga.

Today’s matches will kick off at 10 am between Nadi and Navua, Nadroga will take on Ba at 12pm, Suva will meet Rewa at 2pm while Labasa will take on Lautoka at 4pm.
