Seiko recently launched its new Prospex collection at the Prouds Fiji outlet in Suva Central.

Prospex has been a solid collection for Seiko globally.

Group sales manager-Oceania Brett Neil said Seiko had been donating money and supporting the environment over the years.

“And this year we are going to be doing that for the entire range of Prospex,” he said.

“From all sales, there will be a certain amount of money donated globally to help the environment through the Professional Association of Dive Instructors (PADI) aware foundation.

“We are taking it one step further this year and have been doing conservation initiatives for the past five years.”

Mr Neil said the Prospex collection was well suited to the Fijian market.

“Within the Prospex collection we have a number of watches for professional divers and also people who live that lifestyle around the water – for people here in Fiji if they are going out swimming, snorkeling and particularly with the climate here.

“Each month we have new products but we come to the market here in Fiji twice a year to support the Fijian market which is a very strong market for our brand.”

Mr Neil said their relationship with Prouds Fiji had grown significantly.

“Seiko has been here in association with Prouds for nearly 40 years.

“It’s important that we are associated with the right stores and Prouds is certainly the correct fit for the brand.

“The Fijian people have got a real affiliation with Seiko as a brand and the support from them to our product has grown as well.

“During COVID-19 lockdown it affected sales globally but since the markets have opened up again sales have been extremely strong.

“In the new collection we have got a number of pillars for the brand – we have got Prospex as part of our flagship, we have also got Presage, Seiko 5 Sports and Astron.

“And each product category is aimed at a different demographic or a different customer.

“So Presage watches is all mechanical whereas Prospex is more sports oriented and Seiko 5 Sports is at an affordable price.

“We also have an association with the Seiko 5 Sports range with Supercars in Australia and New Zealand which we have a huge following.”

Mr Neil said Seiko was the official time keeper for the International Athletics Association for the 2022 World Athletics Championships.

The watches are on a 15 per cent discount for Father’s Day special at Prouds and ends on September 4.
