A three-day training was conducted between the Republic of Fiji Navy (RFN) and the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) to strengthen border security and support the nation.

The Fiji Navy and FRCS continue to collaborate and share ideas and resources to strengthen security.

According to RFN the training included practical search exercises and certificate presentations to the trainees.

The training has enhanced the knowledge and skills of naval officers in supporting and acting as Customs officers out at sea, a role which is delegated to RFN personnel when they are out on patrol.

The RFN and FRCS have continued to strengthen their working relationship for the past which has ensured that Fiji’s boarders are secure.

The Fiji Navy highlighted that close cooperation between the two agencies have resulted in successful operations in the past.

The training was part of the continuous engagement between the two border agencies and with more capacity building initiatives planned for the future.
