Spartan Race is expected to be bigger and better in its second year of hosting the event in Fiji.
The event injected FJ$6.2 million into the economy in its inaugural year, and about 3000 people took part in the races across various categories.
Spartan race chief executive Russel Nelms says last year as their entry point, they we did a phenomenal job of making a big impact on the country.
“Over 3000 people took part in the race last year across various categories,” said Nelms.
“This year we are looking to double the number, hoping for 5000 participants to make the event one for the books.”
He believes there is scope to attract more international competitors to Fiji in the comin years.
“International athletes are looking forward to participating this year, as they couldn’t make it last year due to other commitments, which is something good to hear.
“We want to build on the success of 2023 and make 2024 an even bigger success, showcasing to the world what an amazing location Fiji is,” he added.
“I also urge Fijians to come in numbers again and support our national vision of promoting health and wellness whilst bolstering Fiji’s economy.”
The Spartan Race is from November 14-17 at the Aviva Racecourse in Sabeto, Nadi.
