The Seaqaqa football side gave in a strong second half performance to beat Dreketi 2-1 in the opening match of the 2024 Fiji FA President’s Cup in Labasa last night.
Two second half goals in quick succession gave Seaqaqa the much-needed three points.
Meleki Ravulo broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute before Zoeb Khan capitalised to double the lead two minutes later.
Dreketi brought some hope back into the match when Filipe Navaya pulled one back six minutes from time.
Navaya curled in a corner kick which ended up in the Seaqaqa goal in the 84th minute.
In matches today, Bua plays Taveuni at the Labasa Sangam College Ground at 1pm while Dreketi takes on Savusavu in the second match at the same venue at 3pm. Two matches will be played on Saturday.
Savusavu plays Seaqaqa at Subrail Park at 10am while Taveuni takes on Nadogo at 12pm at the Labasa Sangam College Ground.
