SOLOMON Islands artist Sean Rii is just so over the moon being in Fiji for the first time ahead of the Wan Fire Sean Rii concert at Suva’s Vodafone Arena.
“I feel happy, grateful and blessed to be here, and I’m looking forward to the concert (today) at the Vodafone Arena here in Fiji,” he said.
Rii said his decision to join the WAN FIRE event was driven by a desire to share his music with local audiences.
“I want to take my music and come here and share it with Fiji people and everyone here.”
The artist said his music was aimed at uplifting Pacific listeners.
“I just make music for people to feel, not emotional, but happy. Music should lift everyone. If anyone feels happy listening to my music, that’s everything.”
He also shared words of encouragement for young people and artists.
“Just do what you do and make sure, don’t forget to pray. Keep working hard and everything will come.”
Rii said he also enjoyed his first taste of local food.
“Yesterday, I tried the taro leaf with fish in coconut milk, and it was nice.”
Rii grew up listening to Fijian music, such as Dokidoki, George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso, VT1s and Paradise Roots.
The singer has promised fans a memorable show.
“Oh man, it’s gonna be a big one. For the very first time here in Fiji, oh, I’m gonna slide.”
