THE Republic of Fiji Navy (RFN) personnel have been out at sea conduction operations in the past few days.
Fiji Navy said the RFNS Savenaca has been conducting day and night boardings, inspections and physical verifications of vessels encountered at sea while on patrol last week.
RFN noted this was an ongoing operation to sustain their presence out at sea.
Fiji Navy said despite the porous borders and risks associated with operations, their sailors remained committed to safeguarding Fiji’s waters and resources.
RFN’s intent is to continue to step up surveillance and enhance maritime domain awareness and understanding.
They are working closely with national and international partners to ensure a safe and secure blue Pacific.
