Schools will open for resumption of classes from tomorrow, Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro confirmed in a statement that his office was kept updated during the adverse weather condition by Divisional and District Education Offices and based on the updates received and consultation with NDMO and the Fiji Meteorological Services, the decision has been reached to re-open schools.
“Whilst we are announcing the opening of schools from tomorrow, I wish to urge parents and guardians to advise their children on their safety as we are still in the cyclone season and the weather may change anytime,” Mr Radrodro said.
He also wishes to remind teachers to play their part in providing the necessary support when students return to school.
Schools which were previously approved for closure in observance of Holi will do so again tomorrow and resume classes from Thursday, March 9.
“I wish all schools that will be celebrating the festival of colours which embodies the triumph of good over evil, a Happy Holi,” he said.
